Interdisciplinary Design Educator

I recently relocated to Sydney from Melbourne, and have commenced working as a tutor at UTS University in various Design Research and UX subjects. Prior to this, I worked for 5 years at Monash University's school of Art, Design & Architecture [MADA]. Whilst there, I coordinated the foundational undergraduate Design Thinking course, and tutored in various design units within the Bachelor of Design and Master of Business degrees.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and endeavour to make my students as excited about learning as I am. What drives me is the belief that students can learn to become healthy, thriving, contributing individuals as a result of receiving nurturing guidance during their formative studies. My core teaching areas of interest include sustainable design thinking, design for behaviour change, and increasing women’s visibility in design practice.

I bring to my classrooms a diverse pool of knowledge from over ten years’ multidisciplinary experience working across Melbourne’s arts, culture and design sectors. Positions I have held include creating and coordinating public programs for the Sustainable Living Festival, freelancing as a graphic designer and designing exhibitions for the National Gallery of Victoria. The threads tying my work together are a desire to educate the public; to work in versatile, visual and highly organised ways; and to humanise outcomes by drawing on empathy-driven, collaborative research processes.
